Be sure to have your move in date on your contract so that there is no misunderstanding when you will be moving in & the sellers will be moving out.
Create a plan early enough so that you can unclutter your move. Have a yard sale, donate the stuff that does not sell or you don't want to take with you in advance.
Are you going to have a moving company move your belongings or are you going to do it yourself? Compare & contrast the benefits/disadvantages and be prepared with commitments from movers.
Create a list of people and companies you will need to contact before moving with your new address and where you can be reached. The post office has change of address cards you can fill out. Be sure to contact any previous contacts you may have made and any subscriptions you have.
Make a list of items you will need to have immediately for your house so that you can purchase them and have them on hand the day of the move. Also have easily accessible your phone numbers, medicines and any other vital items or information you may need at the last minute.
Box up early all items you do not use on a daily basis and store them in an uncommon area ready to move. Be sure to label all boxes by item content and the room they belong in.
Also, clean up after your move as you would like for your new home to be for you.
